O Hi

Wow I haven't posted here in time now, and now that I look back on these posts I just feel awkward.

*Henry Y U so awks*

In the meantime I got a job (it's the worst heap of awful ever. I work in a restaurant for minimum wage of £3.65 an hour and it's fucking hot and horrible and boring and omfg so hard) and even though I've been there about three weeks I'm thinking about leaving already, but I need to save money because~
 Dun dun dun
I'M GOING TO SEE BIG BANG! \o/

Seriously, I've been waiting for this for so long - probably about eight months now, since there were rumors in January and then it wasn't long after that that it was announced and they started putting dates up - I've never spent so much money without a second thought before. This is the one thing in life I would refuse to miss. I totally didn't cry real tears from happiness and relief...
Speaking of kpop, a little while back now a girl came running up to me at college and asked me if I like kpop. She'd seen me wearing my Minho holiday jumper (I'm like the only one who I know that owns one of these jumpers that wears it all year round) and I was just really weirded out because when you live in such a small place that kind of thing never happens. I was all like *Gasp* "They do exist..."

I also went to London MCM with my friends Honey, Hooi and Cassie last weekend and it was only the second time I've been, but I can safely say it gets more boring each time. The real fun is all the people you meet and the food we got to eat/general spazzing. Hooooh the food. I've never had real Japanese food that I haven't {badly} made myself, so to be able to eat so much amazing food just made my weekend. We had steamed Chinese chicken buns - Jesus they were so good, we dreamed about them all weekend after that. TT_TT  Tuna/salmon Sushi and chicken Dimsum too.
Anyway here's some derpy photos -

Cassie and I sniffing bunz to remembuh in our dreemz xox
I'd never done PK before this
Hooi knew so much about all the food we ate all weekend, it was like she was a walking cookbook.
Our room was full of people so we had to amuse ourselves in the lobby ( There was about 15 of us in one room. I've never waited so long for a bathroom jfc).  That's Karsten - as far as I'm aware he's pretty popular at cosplay...(Johan/Shookie - or the cookie monster - was with us too. Both really nice guys :D).

Derp over, Baii~

Instagram favorites

Hello~
Okay, I don't even know why I'm skulking my way back here because I've nothing worthwhile to say really...
I just have a collection of "interesting" and crudely titled junk for you guys I suppose.

Firstly, some shopping wants -
These gorgeous lavender creepers are super cheap (for that price you could get two pairs, balls to it) - not entirely bad quality either since my friend recently bought a black pair. I'm just lurking to see if they get my size back in stock, then I'm going to be all over them like a flannel.

T.U.K sweet life high top creeper sneaks - I've only seen rare pairs of these dotted around, because they weren't a shop run, only a sample, and they're always in smaller sizes. If you spot them in your size, lucky you because they're goddamn beautiful.

My friend keeps saying how much she wants things from O-S accessories, and I can totally see why - I'm in love with a fair few of their pieces (although for me, some of the pieces look too raw, plasticy and unfinished), but there isn't a soul I know who has $160 to spend on the remnants of a dead organism. I did however route around and find some etsies with similar things. Sadly there weren't a lot of things that were all that alike, but I did find these awesome jaw earrings at blackapollonia's etsy. They also come in plain and pink.

Next, I've been quite enjoying Instagram lately (I suspect an audible tut right about here, but if you're someone who enjoys it like me, I'm TOPeeApple), and these are some people who's images I quite enjoy:

- carlostulk
pretty much a homage to badass art (his cat drawings are phenomenally intricate) and a rather perfect little Bengal cat called Shawty.

- grav3yardgirl
You've probably at least brushed links with her youtube videos - if not, you should! She's great fun to watch as a vlogger, and her instagram is full of all things vintage, Jeffrey Cambell, anatomical and awesome.

-szmoon
A self made fashion crafter who has a really cute pastel sense of style, I really like her WIP shots that she takes while creating some of the clothes she sells, and other DIY shinanigans.

-pinksugarichigo
A varied and colorful instagram full of cute little oddities from a life in Japan.

-endlessdrawings
The art style is so adorably quirky, just love it! You can tell it's cute from the names (`day ghost with noodle legs`, `peapods on an open window` etc)

I totally love instagram, but I do have to say that it totally grates my cheese how so many people on there tag their photos with entirely unrelated tags just to gain likes - `fashion` doesn't really apply to a photo of someone's face with no clothes/makeup/hair in sight, or a photo of their pet...

Almost lastly - if you're someone who often ponders the intellect of the human race and wonder why you are the way you are, here is an interesting website for you to dabble around in when you're pretending to study or whatever it is you like to do.

On a random note, I'm changing my hair. I'm risking destroying my entire head of hair and bleaching the lot, from which I will go half blue and baby pink. After that washes out, I've also bought silver dye. From there I may dye half back to black, or all of it. Only time will tell.

Orlando >> Home

Oh my gosh, bad pun to start out - but yes I have landed back from Florida now. I hate that weird alien feeling you get standing in your own room after not seeing it for two weeks >.>
I'm just gonna throw this right into the haul of stuff I got (this isn't going to be that interesting for people interested in clothes but there's a lot of jewelry/jewelry making things and other crafty bits...what is wrong with me, I go away and buy stationary).
Hello kitty ring : Sanrio store
Octopus necklaces: Bargain supermarket (Obv these come in a pair, and normally I hate tacky `best friends` stuff,  BUT OCTOPUS.
Crocodile ring: Kmart
Turtle ring: Seaworld (This is a stretch ring but I broke one of the strands running through the band trying to loosen the elastic ¬_¬ )
Gummy spike bands: Kmart

I believe all these stickers ( My little pony, hello kitty, moustachesa and letters) are from Walmart and Kmart...I'm not sure. After so much mart, I don't know anything anymore. I also got some `Kawaii` style food stickers with eyeballzzz and animal alphabet ones... For the cool kid in me.

Hello kitty journal: Kmart. It looks a bit battered from a tough ride home :C Whoops cheeky hair. Too much sun and chlorine means I'm molting like a badly made carpet.

Gems, selection of chains, neon string shiz, frog fabric, wings, crosses all from various walmarts.
Hello kitty notepad from Sanrio shop.

Earrings all from Kmart... Except the shamu ones.. They're obviously from seaworld and Idec that they're tacky because WHALES (it's becoming apparently I have a penchant for sea life/reptile scheme jewelry).

Dinosaur. Nothing else need be said. He shall just sit on my shelf being all dinosaur-ish. From Publix.

Hello kitty crop top from Macy's or something... And a lovely alligator claw. They have these in most gift shops and it's so weird because you can see where the bones were cut.Either that or they're awesome fakes but they're all different so I don't think so.
ICE is a Walmart brand, and the purple is from Kmart. The Bon Bon is from a children's makeup selection in Walmart, but it's okay because you never stop loving glitter >:D If I make any nice nail designs I'll probably post them. Sadly the purple leaked on the way home...

AND RUINED MY HAIRBAND FUUUUUU. Looks like I'll be making another one.

Hello Kitty dress from the Sanrio store - as you can tell I'm feeling lazy with photo editing today.
Below is the back detail. I've absolutely no idea with what to wear this so that could be interesting. O_o

Anywhoo that's it for the haul. I did get some other things that I missed out, and a bunch of foodstuff (of course) but I'm being a little lazy right now. Like I said, not much interesting but I hope you like.
Bye~

PS~ If you haven't been to the Sanrio store (I'm not sure if it's a popular store there in the states or not?!) then it's at the Millenia mall on the first floor. I don't know the exact address but I'm sure Google will be yielding.

Music bites

Yep I'm back already because it's late here and I'm killing time before I can have my Pyjamas back out of the tumble dryer and go to bed - my mum washed them even though they were clean... Whatever, anyway, in less than a week I'll be back home and I'll write about some stuff I bought here and some stuff I've been up to (I'm aware that writing about things I bought will be pretty boring for people who live in the states but for people travelling here it could be useful... ).
But yet again the point of this post is music.
Some time ago someone asked me what kind of music I listen to, and then every time I've been asked this I've been reluctant to answer. Because, much like people judge you based on your appearance, if you tell them one song/genre of music you like, you are judged by it. If your favourite genre is pop but you say you like, oh I don't know... Meshuggah, then you're judged as a metalhead etc. Therefore the point of this is to showcase a big collection of various songs, genres and styles that I like.

Commence music heavy post:

Kerli Koiv - Most people who know Kerli know her from when she released her song `Tea party` in relation to Alice in Wonderland. But, in my personal opinion, that's one of her worst songs. Her older stuff is a lot more..Her.

Kill Hannah - These guys are/were a small band from Chicago - I'm unsure as to whether they're still together or not but they did bring out a newer album around a year or two ago. This isn't necessarily one of my favourite songs of theirs, but it's one of the only ones with an MV because they only came to attention by Kerrang! about...three years ago?!
They were one of my first gigs, and they came out to the floor to meet the fans, sign stuff and take photos, so they were interactive too!

Lyn - I have no idea if this is Lyn's only song or not but I just love it. Her voice is lovely and I really like the way Haegeum's voice sounds in the middle too. It's kinda weird, she looks like she could be Kim Hyungjoon's mom or something O_o

Bell Nuntita - Thai pop is that underrated that it's next to impossible to find Thai to English translations for most songs, especially if you want romanization type lyrics as well. Bell is actually one of my favourites: I saw her while trawling the internet while browsing Korea's got talent videos, which led me to Thailand's got talent where Bell appeared as a transgender singing both female voice and male baritone. Check out her audition, it's pretty interesting. She's so gorgeous too!

Candy Mafia - Candy mafia is one of those groups you just like to listen to when you're in a silly mood and want something fun.

Clazzi - A member of Clazziquai project. CP make such awesome chilled out music, perfect for doing homework to.

Culcha Candela - A somewhat tacky number that my friend and I used to enjoy when we were actually supposed to be learning German, not singing it...

Marilyn Manson - Just in case all you Manson fans forgot about the lovable guy then this is one of his most recent songs from his album `Born Villain` - if you enjoy testing your comfort zone, watch his "teaser" for the album.
Maskinen - An interwebz frond of mine showed me Maskinen, and I can't stop listening to it! `Alla som inte dansar` is another good tune.

AS(S) LEVEL

Our art group had to display our stuff for moderation yesterday. We were really bored by it because we'd seen each others stuff almost every weekday for the last year, but I suppose other people enjoyed it more than we did.
Here are the displays.
My display - all dat kpoop...My theme was graffiti, as if you can tell.

Suzi kershaw - she looked at the identity of being a twin or smth

Claire newman

All of this guy's stuff was so flawlessly made and really cool. It reminded me of the codex and other ancient paraphernalia in the Davinci Code.

Lily's stuff was just so osm, she journalled the journey through a house.

THis is the first half of her project, and she collected literally hundreds of miniture face illustrations. She did so much work D:

Abi did some really cool 3D Kandinsky/journal blend stuff which I thought looked really great.

I cant remember who's this piece or the one below it belonged to! D:

This girl's final piece was a plastic laser cut/etched image of her eye built up through multiple layers, like the one below.

Now to leave you with some absolutely riveting stuff, like my newest addition to the family - my niece Jessamy - and the super awesome gay couple action men that I made for my other niece with a doily and a bandage.

False nail tips

Here is a random post where I tell you some really pointless useful stuff about false nails.... Allow me tah shur sum stuffs

Firstly, the nails themselves - people don't know what they're missing by not shopping around, seriously. My friend showed me a box of about 50 nails with a piddly tube of glue and about ten nails in each size (less sizes too obviously, aka less likely to even be useful) maximum that she said she got from a supermarket for about £8, and I've seen more expensive ones in drugstores/online. If you browse, you can often get a bag of false nails for £3. You can get 500 nails in sizes 0-9 , and roughly 20 nails for each size. Naturally, you wont use all of those sizes, but the same goes for the more expensive ones, of which you have even less. And you can buy some good quality glue from most drugstores/supermarkets for about £2.

I always see people on Youtube tutorials using orange sticks or whatever to stick false nails on when they paint them, but whenever I tried it the varnish from the edges just went all over stuff whenever I put it down. It's also annoying to pick up and the nails moved around on the stick whenever I tried to paint them. Instead I use this cork-board (which I made all cute and sparkly with whipped silicone cream so that it doesn't look half as ugly), and stick each individual nail onto it's own thumbtack. I picked up these super cute pink and purple ones from Wilkinson for £1. They match my board! \o/ They're raised off the surface, the board catches any drips/glitter, is easily portable and multipurpose. Obviously I use mine to stick random junk to that I can't be bothered to put elsewhere.
Nails lined up for painting
I've also tried a fair few quick drying solutions as well (I did a Diploma in hair and beauty, and not even the professional products they had were as good) but Avon liquid freeze is the most decent. It has an oil like consistency that wears off quite fast, and can be painted over the polish almost straight away. Also super good for smoothing creases in wet polish (better than topcoat I found). Mine was a gift, so I've no idea how much it would be or if Avon still make it.
Leave nails to cure for about two days if possible - when you glue them on and press them, they'll just squish. Stick them then paint them if you want to wear them right away.
Glitter: I actually think makeup glitter is better for nails, because unlike normal glitter, it's super fine and doesn't give the texture of sandpaper half as much. It also comes off a lot more easily than chunky glitter.
I got way too bored too fast ( I like to paint my nails in sets so I don't have to worry about painting any more for about a month, but it's a bit time consuming) and so I only did one set in a shoddy fashion.
I left the tips a little empty because I still hadnt cut them to size...that was me being lazy, I should have cut them first.

Etsy Extravaganza

Deviant art is always a great source of awesome etsy and web stores, since they use it to showcase their handmade creations. Vae Nox is one of these etsy stores - she creates really beautiful anatomical inspired jewelry, which I think would fit gothic lolita or visual kei fashion really well.
I love the eyeballs she uses, the color is SO nice.
Some of the pinker stuff is slightly more suitable for pastel/kawaii goth, but there are fewer items.
Most of the necklaces are about $25, which I think would work out about £20. These are some really nice statement necklaces that could be used with plainer outfits to to jazz them up.

The next etsy I really like is Beatblack - the jewelry is just totally unique, the style almost resembles scrawly illustration style art. The prices range greatly depending on the amount of sculpting done for each piece ( most of the pieces are made of ploymer, which is super strong plastic type clay), and you can request pieces in your own color choice - these are some of my favorites:
This is an expensive piece at $50, but I suppose it's worth all that detail - it glows in the dark too, perfect for dark parties and concerts.
These are $18, and something I can totally visualize 2NE1 wearing.
These are $20, and although I don't think they're that special,  it might suit people who want in on the eyeball thing but don't like the crazy color scheme/glitter that sometimes comes with it.
Slinkskull  makes a varied mix of sweet and dark pieces. Some of the cameos have an almost jelly-like glitter appearance that likens them to barbie jewelry.

OMGLOB UNICONZ

On the whole unicorn theme, CMD Custom has this super simple acrylic one, for people who aren't fans of all the  bling but still love unicorns (not that I understand how that works, Unicorns are kings of bling). The acrylic cross necklace is also really popular right now, I've seen a lot of them (particularly glittery ones), but I think this one is quite different because it's rounded and hollow (though it might just snag on anything and everything, who knows).

Lastly is Skaior, which sells mostly victorian-esque/steampunk items etc. There are a few items in there though that could be combined into some key trends, especially these wing cufflinks (I feel weird saying I like cufflinks, but I think even though theyre primarily for men, they could look nice with a sheer long sleeved shirt, as well as making those boring formal attire outfits a bit more interesting).

These Fleur earrings sort of remind me of the Chrome hearts jewelry designs. As for more cross necklaces, this one is really pretty, and I think these octopus earrings would look amazing with green/aqua hair and blue/green clothes.
Undah da sea, trust me itz bettah down whur itz wettah take it frum meh.
